The Resource Nurse, under the supervision of the nursing supervisor, provide support to staff nurses by assisting with staff education and performance improvement.  Assist staff with procedures, policies and care of patients on the medical/surgical/telemetry floors.   • Facilitate and sustain quality patient care
  • Aid in teaching nursing staff procedures, policies and the standard practices
  • Respond to Rapid Responses and Code Blue calls within the inpatient services
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation
  • Round frequently on the medical/surgical/ telemetry floors and act as a resource for staff. 
  • Support staff with medication administration, documentation, patient care
  • Work closely with staff to develop an environment that promotes staff growth, role competency and proficiency in nursing skills/critical thinking
  • Work with staff to improve patient experience
  • Promote RN professionalism and provide guidance to the Novice RN

  • Registered Nurse for minimum of 5 years
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • BSN required unless previously grandfathered
  • Is cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect and compassion.
  • Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
  • Responds to requests in a timely manner.
  • Professional and a positive attitude
  • Embraces team work and ability to multitask
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and organization skills
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of caring and treating patients with complex medical and surgical health care needs
  • Strong telemetry skills
  • Strong IV insertion and maintenance skills
  • Completes work assignments within an acceptable time frame
  • Uses time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains efficient working relationships
