We’re currently looking for a Clinical Medical Device and System Integration Engineer in the Worcester County, MA area. The Engineer will be responsible for development and design for equipment systems associated with medical device applications to improve patient care quality/safety and customer efficiency/work-flow usability of medical device technology. The hours are generally M-F from 8-5; however, we’re flexible for the right candidate

 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Information Services and Clinical Engineering Team on medical device interoperability for the EMR from a technical and operational perspective.
  • Evaluates, recommends, selects, procures, integrates, installs, and certifies devices for regulatory inspections and expansion/renovation projects.
  • Design and modification of medical equipment, coordinate installation, conduct equipment evaluations and replace/dispose of legacy equipment.
  • Provide in-service training on device use, design, safety protocols and functions.
  • Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement efforts.
  • Comply with departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Ensures compliance of regulatory agencies such TJC, DPH, CMS, CAP, AABB, NFPA, OSHA, FDA AAMI, ASHE, AHA, etc.
 
Requirements:
  • 2-5+ years’ experience working in Clinical Medical Device Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Ability to understand methods, materials, tools, equipment and technical service procedures for all medical devices managed by the Clinical Engineering Department.
  • Experience healthcare EMR and computer software/hardware device integration; preferably, prior experience integrating devices with the EPIC system.
  • Advanced analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to self-manage projects.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to represent the interests of all departments/all levels of the organization.
